Heating – Zoning Systems
Continuing with our conversation regarding zoning. The least expensive systems to zone are the electric radiant and baseboard systems.
Most hydronic systems installed back in 1997 utilized a baseboard heating element, were and can be zoned at moderate cost by the addition of either individual hot water circulators or zone valves.
Forced air is the most expensive for either single or multi-zoning, but is commonly used because the same distribution system can be used for HVAC. This is where the electric heat pump can be used for both heating and cooling.
